Preventative Maintenance Program-

• Develop a step by step Preventative Maintenance Procedure for your specific Circuit Breaker type. If there is no current Preventative Maintenance Procedure in place at your facility CREDSI can provide an inclusive procedure based on the OEM Technical Manual and industry experience specific to your Circuit Breaker type from scratch.

• Rework your existing Preventative Maintenance Procedure to make it more comprehensive and user friendly. If the current Preventative Maintenance Procedure doesn't address inspection of critical areas or if it isn't easy to work with CREDSI can add the steps to improve the procedure and clarify the steps that are unclear.

• Review your existing Preventative Maintenance Procedure for all the latest service advisories, modifications, and design changes. The longer breakers are in service they become subject to service advisories and design changes. These changes could affect the reliability of breaker operation. CREDSI can incorporate these changes with a review on a regular basis.

• Train your plant service personnel in the proper use of the Preventative Maintenance Procedure at your facility or ours. Some circuit breaker types require more mechanical adjustment than others and each adjustment specified by the OEM affect breaker reliability in different ways. Often a procedural step can be interpreted in different ways depending on experience level of the person performing the task or how the step is written. CREDSI can provide the guidance and experience to clarify each step, both in the field and at our shop.

Circuit Breaker Recondition Program-

• Develop a detailed Circuit Breaker Recondition Program for your specific Circuit Breaker type and needs. The most important Circuit Breaker is the one you are responsible for to ensure proper plant operation. It is unique to your application, environment and duty cycle. As the circuit breakers age, parts become more scarce as do the qualified personnel to work on them. Larger companies have a larger turnover which leads to less experience and support when you need it most. A viable option used by many plants is to incorporate their own respective Circuit Breaker Recondition Program. CREDSI has done this for over 10 common breaker types.

• Develop a step by step Circuit Breaker Recondition Procedure complete with pictures and instruction on the disassembly of major subcomponents. It is often said that picture is worth a thousand words and it is true when it helps augment an effective Circuit Breaker Recondition Procedure. In conjunction with a detailed written step by step procedure the pictures and the training provided by CREDSI increase reliability and becomes an effective cost saving tool over time.

• Thoroughly train your plant service personnel in the proper use of the Circuit Breaker Recondition Program and procedure at your facility or ours. The things that cannot be detailed in a Circuit Breaker Recondition Program are the experiences of the trainers on that particular circuit breaker. CREDSI instructors have the necessary experience and convey that to the trainees. It has been our experience that once the course is complete the trainees increase their confidence and troubleshooting skills for that circuit breaker type.
